Bored by what’s on offer from New York Fashion Week currently – they just don’t run wild with colour and print like the London and European designers do. In my hunt for riotous print I decided to revisit famed Finnish illustrator Klaus Haapaniemi and former Gucci art director Mia Wallenius and see what they were up to since I blogged about their collaboration for Established & Sons last year. They have teamed up again and launched a signature collection of textiles for both the home and body, laden with wonderful animal imagery to boot – love the spider scarves especially, but not quite sure how I would feel having them wrapped around my neck? But the blankets, throws and shawls for bedsy are definitely my thing, showcasing a myriad of man’s best friends and manufactured using traditional techniques and methods utilising hand-dyed and loomed wool, silk and linen. Natural fibres and their textures will add warmth and sensuality to your home during these colder months and are easy to layer up in winter and strip down in summer. Klaus and Mia’s style of story-telling with textiles is a big trend for the future as we react to the increasingly digital landscape of our lives, read more about what trend guru Li Edelkoort has to say about the overwhelming return of textiles in our interiors here. Now, bundle up.
